Red Garnett is a leaf variety grown for its colorful sprouts and soft tasty young leaves. They are oval-heart shaped and medium green overlaid with burgundy red. Baby leaves can be harvested 20 to 25 days after sowing. Will grow up to several feet tall if grown past baby leaf stage. Used fresh and for cooking. Plants grow very well in hot weather unlike many other greens. Popular in Asia, Africa and the West Indies.
