Amaranthus caudatus

Red Garnet is a leaf variety grown for its colorful sprouts and soft tasty young leaves. They are oval-heart shaped and medium green overlaid with burgundy red. Leaves can be harvested 20 to 25 days after sowing for microgreens. Used fresh and for cooking. Plants grow very well in hot weather unlike many other greens. Popular is Asia, Africa and the West Indies.
