Asparagus officianalis

Ida Lea F-1 Ida Lea produces early all-green spears
with tight, tapering heads 10-20% larger than UC 157. The lack of purplish
color (like UC 157) helps distinguish it from other varieties. It maintains
a tight, well tapered head in the hottest production regions and will usually
not initiate lateral branches until the spear reaches 12 inches. Ida Lea
is tolerant to Rust, highly tolerant to Fusarium and free of Asparagus Latent
Virus 2. |

Asparagus, Mary Washington Perennial. Popular
U.S. variety used in the truck garden and commercial market. Early long
straight medium dark green spears with tight purpling tips. Cutting season
can last up to 60 days. Resistant to some rusts and blight. |
 |
Asparagus, UC 157 F-1 Developed at the University
of California at Riverside in 1978 this variety is the most widely planted
fresh market variety in the world. It produces early all-green spears with
tight tapering heads and can be harvested longer in high temperatures than
other varieties. Tolerant to Rust and Fusarium and free of Asparagus Latent
Virus 2. |
 |
Asparagus, UC 157 F-2 Open pollinated increase
of UC 157 F-1. This variety will exhibit variability typical of an F-2 generation
which will result in an overall lower yield and quality plus less tolerance
to Rust and Fusarium. Seed is not tested for Asparagus Latent Virus 2. |
