Carrot, Atomic Red

This red carrot along with white, yellow and purple varieties, have been around as long or longer than the standard orange varieties. It hasn’t been till recently that these other colors are becoming popular. Atomic Red’s long tapered roots can grow 8-10 inches long. These carrot’s have a strong delicious carrot flavor and become more red when cooked. The vibrant red color comes from lycopene which is a cancer preventing anti-oxidant. Relative maturity is 70 days.
